The U.S. government has sanctioned several hundred individuals and organizations in various countries that are supporting Russia’s war against Ukraine.
This was stated by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in a statement released on Wednesday, as reported by Ukrinform.
“Building on the unprecedented measures we have already implemented in coordination with our allies and partners, the United States is today imposing sanctions on approximately 400 entities and individuals for enabling Russia to wage its illegal war against Ukraine,” emphasized the head of American diplomacy.
He emphasized that these actions target several sectors critical for fueling Russia’s military machine.
In particular, the U.S. Department of State has imposed restrictions on third countries that facilitate the circumvention of previously imposed sanctions, on officials from the Russian Ministry of Defense and defense companies, as well as on those supporting the development of Russia’s future energy production and export capabilities.
“We are imposing sanctions on several companies from China that export dual-use goods and fill critical gaps in Russia’s defense industry, as well as on entities and individuals linked to supporting the Lukashenko regime’s defense industry,” Blinken noted.
