In the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden, it was stated that Israel’s strikes in response to Iran’s missile attack were “very carefully prepared.”
This was reported by an unnamed representative of the presidential administration in a comment to CNN.
According to the source, during the attack, Israel targeted military sites in Iran.
“The attack was extensive. It was precise. It was accurate. It was directed against military sites throughout Iran. It was very carefully prepared in many respects. And again, I think it was designed for effectiveness,” the official said.
The Israel Defense Forces announced strikes on Iran in response to “months of continuous attacks by the Iranian regime.” The targets of the Israeli strikes were military facilities.
The U.S. presidential administration stated that the American side did not participate in Israel’s operation against Iran.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer urged Iran not to retaliate against the attack, stating that the Middle East must “avoid further regional escalation.”
