At the upcoming Ramstein-format meeting of allies, new steps are expected in supporting Ukraine, particularly regarding its North Atlantic integration.

The Washington Post, citing Ukrainian and Western officials, reported this.

Details: A Western diplomat noted that NATO countries are considering more specific ways to support Ukraine on its path to future membership.

Journalists remarked that while these proposals may not fully meet Kyiv’s urgent needs, they will still be an important signal.

Additionally, one Western diplomat mentioned that after President Zelenskyy failed to lift missile restrictions, Ukraine might receive some other form of assistance during the conference in Germany.

At the same time, Ukrainian officials are concerned that the approaching U.S. presidential elections could jeopardize the continuation of military aid.

Zelenskyy and his team are aiming to convince U.S. President Joe Biden to support a “Victory Plan,” which could become part of his political legacy.

The newspaper noted that the White House is cautiously approaching decisions that could impact the Democrats’ election campaign.

It was recently revealed that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to present his “Victory Plan” to the leaders of allied countries at the Ramstein meeting.

On October 5, an article in the Financial Times, which gathered insights from unnamed diplomats and public comments on potential scenarios for ending the war and Ukraine’s accession to NATO, discussed the idea that one possible scenario being considered in the West to end the current hot phase of the war and prevent a new one is to accept Ukraine into NATO under a model similar to West Germany’s.
