In Washington, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris and presented the Victory Plan to her.
The President thanked Kamala Harris for her participation in the first Peace Summit and for the unwavering support the United States has provided to Ukraine all along.
During the meeting, President Zelenskyy shared the details of the Victory Plan.
“It is crucial for us to be fully understandable and to work in full coordination with the United States. This morning, I talked to the Congressmen – both chambers, both parties. And I’m thankful for the bipartisan support. We believe this war can be won and just peace can be closer only with the United States,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The President provided updates on the latest battlefield developments, the operation in the Kursk region, and Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
He called for bolstering Ukraine’s air defense and stepping up pressure on Russia.
“We need to keep sanctions against Russia strong, and we need to use the proceeds from immobilized Russian assets to protect Ukraine, our people, our cities, our frontline from Russian evil. And of course we must work hard to bring all Russian war criminals to justice,” the President noted.
Kamala Harris noted that this was her seventh meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy and assured of steadfast support for Ukraine. She stated that the U.S. will continue to provide the security assistance needed for Ukraine’s victory.
“We must defend our democratic values and stand up to aggressors. And we must stand for international order, rules, and norms. Each one of these principles is at stake in Ukraine, and that is why Ukraine’s fight matters to the people of America,” the Vice President of the United States emphasized.
