European countries have been importing artillery shells from Indian manufacturers to Ukraine for over a year. Despite Russia’s protests, India has not intervened or halted this trade, although Russia has requested this at least twice.

This was reported by Reuters.

India produces only a small fraction of the ammunition used by Ukraine—less than 1% of the total weapons imported by Kyiv. These supplies are sent by Italy and the Czech Republic.

India has also exported ammunition components to Spain and Slovenia, which have established supply chains for Ukraine.

The Kremlin has raised the issue on at least two occasions, including during a July meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Indian counterpart, three Indian officials said.
