The Ukrainian army has 880 thousand servicemen who are defending the entire territory of the state from Russian aggression. On Ukrainian soil, they are opposed by 600,000 Russian troops. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy after a meeting with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
“Today, the number of our army is 880 thousand people, and they are defending the entire territory of Ukraine. At the same time, Russian troops are concentrated in several areas, which is why they have a numerical advantage in these areas of the front. After the war is over, we must understand what the contingent of other countries is and be prepared for it,” the President emphasized.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy also emphasized that maintaining a strong Ukrainian army should be a key component of any future agreements. “We will not play games with the reduction of our military forces. Today, the only real guarantee of security is a large Ukrainian army,” the head of state said.
The President confirmed that the continuation of defense capacity building remains a strategic priority for Ukraine. A strong army is a guarantee of peace and stability both in the country and in the entire region.
