Since 2000, Vladimir Putin has spent more than a trillion US dollars on the army. But despite these military expenditures, six months of full-scale war in Ukraine have shown that the Russian Federation has not spent enough on either manpower or weapons. Western sanctions have played their part and it is not possible to replenish weapons supplies. At the same time, the Ukrainian army, armed with precision weapons from partner countries, is successfully eliminating the aggressor state’s ammunition depots.
