Russian troops on Friday launched a terrorist missile attack on the centre of the Ukrainian town of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region. The missile hit a supermarket, killing at least 14 people and injuring 44 others.

This was reported on social media by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the head of Donetsk region Vadym Filashkinthe police, and Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, the Gaze informed.

According to Zelenskyy, there are still people under the rubble, and a rescue operation is underway. The president added that the post office was also hit.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and local police, there are currently 12 dead and 44 injured. Filashkin clarified that the supermarket of the popular Ukrainian chain Eco-Market was hit. People in neighbouring shops and trade pavilions were also injured.

“There are probably still people under the rubble – the rescue operation is ongoing,” said the head of the region.

Filashkin added that after the supermarket was hit on Friday, Russia struck Kostyantynivka with another Smerch multiple rocket launcher system. Two civilians were wounded. 6 private houses and a gas pipeline were damaged.

The attacks killed dozens of people and injured hundreds. The Okhmatdyt Children’s Hospital was among the facilities affected by Russian missile strikes.
