More than 136,000 people fell ill with flu and acute respiratory viral infection in Ukraine over the past week, the Health Ministry has reported, according to Ukrinform.
“Between December 23 and December 29, 136,225 people fell ill with flu and ARVI, 67.7% of whom were children under the age of 17. The incidence rate was 356.2 people per 100,000 population, which is 25.3% less than the epidemic threshold in Ukraine,” the report says.
In all regions of Ukraine, the activity of influenza and ARVI was recorded at non-epidemic level. Also, since the beginning of the epidemic season, one person has died from flu complications.
The Health Ministry says that annual vaccination is the best flu prevention.
