President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy welcomes the successful return to homeland of 109 Ukrainians, who have earlier expressed the will to leave the Gaza Strip. The plane carrying Ukrainians has landed in Kyiv in the morning.
UATV reports this referring to the Office of the President.
13 citizens of Moldova and 4 citizens of Bulgaria were evacuated along with Ukrainians.
The humanitarian action took place during the armed clashes in Middle East.
“In order to organize the evacuation of Ukrainians from the Gaza Strip, the MFA and diplomats have conducted a series of complicated negotiations. Working closely and coordinating their activities the state institutions have provided the safe return of Ukrainians home”, – the Office of the President informed.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that Ukrainians can always count on the help from their country.
